POLARC
 

Policy and Law Reform Centre (POLARC) was founded by Jolly Osaretin Obazee Esq, the presiding attorney of Unicorn Chambers, as a non-profit organization. Since its inception, POLARC has been dedicated to the goal of policy and law advocacy and reform concentrating on:

  • Enabling the involvement of individuals, groups and communities in shaping of laws and policies.
  • Seeking dialogue and partnership with the government at national, state and local levels on policy and law issues.
  • Providing a platform for civil society and community based organizations to monitor and assess the implementation of policies and laws to improve the lives of people.
  • Enabling networking and sharing of information and best practices
  • Providing a platform for the engaging in wider sub-regional and global policy processes.
  • Providing a forum for the integration of the socio-economic and political goals different sections of the country.

POLARC has emphasized seminars, trainings and workshops as an essential component in creating awareness about law and policy reforms.  Hence the organization frequently stage public lectures and workshops and has been partnering with various development organizations, both locally and internationally, in this initiative.

The members of the firm regularly contribute to legal publications on topics ranging from gender equity, access to information, education, labour conditions, security among others.  Membership is open to all legal practitioners, groups and organization concerned with the development and reform of laws and policies in Nigeria.
