Unicorn Chambers is committed to the community and to giving back to the society. We believe that we have a responsibility to use our resources and people for the long-term benefit of the society. The philosophy of Unicorn Chambers is based upon a dedication to protecting and preserving the dignity and the rights of all individuals. Toward that end, it is the commitment of Unicorn Chambers to seek justice for individuals, groups and communities through law and policy formulation and reform advocacy.
Our target is mostly people who have neither the resources nor effective political and social alliances to further their cause. To this end, the founder of Unicorn Chambers established the Policy and Law Reform Centre (POLARC) through which lives are touched in a positive way. Through POLARC, we work to achieve something for others who are affected by some laws and policies or non-existence of such. We also advise such people, particularly those who express a desire to be a part of a larger process of justice. Since its inception, POLARC has been dedicated to the goal of policy and law advocacy and reform concentrating on:
- Enabling the involvement of individuals, groups and communities in shaping of laws and policies.
- Seeking dialogue and partnership with the government at national, state and local levels on policy and law issues.
- Providing a platform for civil society and community based organizations to monitor and assess the implementation of policies and laws to improve the lives of people.
- Enabling networking and sharing of information and best practices
- Providing a platform for the engaging in wider sub-regional and global policy processes.
- Providing a forum for the integration of the socio-economic and political goals for different sections of the country
